FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Performs In Iraq; Video Footage, Photos Available
March 20, 2010Los Angeles metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH travelled to Iraq at the end of February to perform a handful of shows for U.S. troops. This tour was the band's first visit to Iraq.
"There's not enough people in America that are exposed to what really goes on over here, how hard the troops are working for us and our side," FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer Ivan Moody said during an interview that was conducted while the band was in Iraq (see video below). "We just wanted to come over here and give them a piece of life.
"We know that it becomes monotonous out here — it's a seven-day-a-week job — and we really wanted to break it up and make them feel human, and I hope that we gave them that.
"We've spent a lot of hard time on the road, as well as you guys have earning the freedom that we have. It's the least we can do."
Video footage from the trip can be viewed below.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH released a new single, "No One Gets Left Behind", in the U.K. on March 8 via Spinefarm Records.
Taken from the band's latest/second album, "War Is The Answer", and with studio track "Undone" included as a bonus, the single is available on seven-inch colored vinyl (a limited, hand-numbered pressing) and as a download with a digital booklet.
The artwork for both formats features photos sent to the group by fans currently serving in the U.S. military — specifically from Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron 462.
Since the release of the debut FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH album, "The Way Of The Fist", back in 2007, the band has gained increasing support from U.S. troops on active service, as a result of which their "Death Squad" motif now regularly features on combat vehicles and choppers along with the "No One Gets Left Behind" call to arms.
This latest single, the third from "War Is The Answer", coincided with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's headline appearance at Hammerfest. The Prestatyn show will also witnessed the U.K. unveiling of a brand new mic stand designed for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH frontman Ivan Moody by Alchemy Studios in the U.K.
Produced in solid stainless steel and weighing in at a massive 12-13 stone (!),the mic took over 120 hours to complete, and is a combination of the "classic Alchemy Gothic style" along with themes relating to the band's "War Is The Answer" release.
